The end of a Journey

Photobucket

August 20, Ragga Waka bade farewell to the Suntec Stage, we didn't make it through to semi-finals but I'm still proud of everything we achieved. Training with such a crazy ass schedule, members falling sick, school and work commitments and churning out a brand new choreo and learning it all in the span of less than a week.

Here's our crazy ass stunt thing. Hani the crazy strong girl had to pull my body up, slightly missed cue but thank god shaunie saved the day! Wasn't as impressive but the coverup was pretty flawless ;)

Our make up for the day, which was lum's brilliant idea fused with shaunie and hani's awesome skill with the dotting on of the black eyeliner and glitter eyeliner. Everyone thought it was stickers, even I thought so too when I first saw it on Hani. Genius !

No doubt I was disappointed that we didn't get through, but I wassssss expecting it because our choreo was so much more simple than the previous time. No regrets tho, like what shauna said, WE ENDED ON A HIGH.

I'm just really grateful that after my lull period in dance, the first competition that I join, I joined it with such wonderful group members. Each was as enthusiastic as the other, every training was filled with sweat, laughter and joy and the camaraderie was so strong.

I tried so hard to hold back my tears but as we huddled in a circle, arms around each other, with words of encouragement said and gratitude made known and feelings shown...
My tears fought through that weak barricade of defense and just rushed down my cheeks,
which sparked off other members crying ._. *guilty*
Oh god, I am such a water tap, and it wouldn't stop.
Thanks to all for all the hugs, words of comfort and encouragement...
which also made me cry even more.

Gah and joel wasn't there for me to cling onto like a koala and bawl my eyes out, a little bit of maintenance there, because I've never been comfortable crying to/infront of people I'm not closest with.

So yep, that marks the end of our jouney...
I WISHED IT WASN'T SO SHORT.
But yea, this is just suntec,
MANY MORE COMPETITIONS TO COME FOR RAGGA WAKA.
Spreading the seeds of love for REGGAE far and wide in this little island.
That's was what our main goal is and will always be.

More photos from Auditions! I must add that, I'm so happy for the enthusiasm in costumes in our group, makes for a lot of fun in our competition process.
